Ashley & Steven lead ATX K9 with over two decades of combined experience, from advanced obedience to emergency veterinary-technician work. They bring their own trained dogs to lessons when it helps, which is a great way to socialize your pup and teach focus around distractions.

The questions we hear most

Should I do private lessons or board & train?
Private lessons are like personal fitness training, we show you the exercises, but you do the daily homework. They build a deep bond and cost less, as long as you can stay consistent. Board & train takes the teaching off your plate for faster, immersion-style results. Not sure? We'll help you decide on your consultation.
What breeds and ages do you work with?
All of them, we don't discriminate by breed and love working with every kind of dog. Puppies under 16 weeks (before their rabies shot) start with a puppy lesson; dogs over 16 weeks are eligible for any program.
What methods do you use?
We're balanced trainers, we make training fun and let your dog know clearly when they're right (often!) and when they're not. We use the tool that best fits your dog and lifestyle, from treats and clickers to martingale, prong, or remote collars, never one-size-fits-all.
How quickly will I see results?
With about 20–30 minutes of daily practice, most owners see meaningful progress within a few weeks. The more consistent your follow-through, the faster it sticks.
What's your guarantee?
For private lessons, much of the progress depends on you, so we guarantee we'll give you the skills to train your dog as outlined in your package, and we're here for questions along the way. Our goal is your satisfaction and great care for every dog we work with.
Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?
No, it's not required for private lessons. Just let us know if your female is in or near her season so we can plan around it.
